Psychometric Evaluation of the Persian Version of Spontaneous Use of Imagery Scale in the Iranian Population

Background: In recent years, particular emphasis has been placed on the role of mental imagery in psychopathologies. Objectives: The current study aimed to investigate psychometric properties Persian version Spontaneous Use Imagery Scale (SUIS-P) general Iranian population. Methods: was carried out 474 individuals 2020 through convenience sampling. SUIS, Ambiguous Scenarios Test relevant Depressed Mood (AST-D), and Beck Depression Inventory-second edition (BDI-II) were filled by subjects. Moreover, for determination divergent validity between SUIS BDI-II, Pearson correlation also used. Data analysis performed SPSS Software (version 24). Results: internal consistency total score acceptable (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.75). significant positive relationship AST-D (r 0.34; P < 0.01) showed good convergent validity. No observed BDI-II. Factor using principal component with a varimax rotation introduced four factors. factors explained 0.55 variance. Regarding construct validity, inter-item item-total correlations SUIS-P an range. Conclusions: Based results, excellent population can be used research therapeutic interventions.
